Dehradun: Newly appointed Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan officially assumed office at the Secretariat on Monday. Outgoing Chief Secretary Radha Raturi handed over the charge in a formal ceremony attended by senior officials and employees.
After taking charge, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan emphasized that the successful implementation of government policies for the state’s development remains a top priority. He highlighted livelihood, employment, skill development, and reverse migration as key focus areas. Strengthening infrastructure and exploring new livelihood opportunities are crucial for the state’s progress, he stated.
Addressing challenges, Bardhan pointed out that urbanization and healthcare are pressing concerns. He stressed the need for continuous efforts to improve city infrastructure and healthcare services. Additionally, he underscored the importance of water conservation, acknowledging the global water crisis and the necessity of on-ground initiatives to benefit citizens.
On the financial front, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need to explore new revenue sources while optimizing existing resources for the state’s economic growth.
The event witnessed the presence of all officers and employees of the Secretariat.
