Dehradun: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) paid a floral tribute and offered heartfelt homage at his portrait in the Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Remembering the legacy of Dr Ambedkar, the Governor said that he was not only the chief architect of the Indian Constitution but also a tireless champion of social justice, equality, and human rights. Throughout his life, Dr Ambedkar dedicated himself to the upliftment of the underprivileged, marginalized, and oppressed, laying a strong foundation for a just and inclusive society.
The Governor emphasized that Dr Ambedkar’s life, ideals, and vision continue to inspire millions across the nation. His monumental contributions to Indian democracy, social reform, and nation-building remain etched in the nation’s collective memory.
