Employment Fair Organized by Technical Education Department for Polytechnic Students

Dehradun: An employment fair was organized on Saturday at the Government Women’s Polytechnic, Sudhowala, Dehradun, for students from 39 government polytechnic institutes across the Garhwal Mandal. The event was held under the auspices of the Technical Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand.

The fair was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Shri Subodh Uniyal, Hon’ble Minister for Technical Education, Language, Election, and Forests, Uttarakhand Government, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Secretary of Technical Education, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, and Director of Technical Education, Shri Deshraj, were present as special guests.

In a video message, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the participation of approximately 77 companies at the employment fair. He highlighted the remarkable progress in placement figures—from 65 percent last year to the goal of achieving 100 percent this year. He urged all stakeholders to strive towards this target.

The Chief Minister emphasized the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, which is to transform students into job providers rather than job seekers. In alignment with this vision, the state government has launched several startup initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among youth. Shri Dhami encouraged students to take full advantage of these schemes and actively pursue startup opportunities to help realize the Prime Minister’s mission.
