UTTARAKHAND: Helicopter En Route to Kedarnath Makes Emergency Landing, All Passengers Safe

Rudraprayag, 7 June  — A major mishap was narrowly avoided on Saturday afternoon on the Kedarnath Yatra route when a helicopter operated by Crystal Aviation Private Limited made an emergency landing on the road due to a technical malfunction. The incident occurred shortly after the helicopter took off from the Barasu base en route to Kedarnath.

There were six people on board, including the pilot. All passengers are safe, while the pilot sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

District Tourism Development Officer and Heli Service Nodal Officer Rahul Chaubey stated that the pilot acted swiftly and showed presence of mind by executing a safe emergency landing upon detecting the fault. During the landing, a parked vehicle on the roadside was damaged, but no serious injuries or casualties were reported.

Following the incident, administrative teams promptly reached the site and began the process of removing the helicopter. Normal traffic flow was restored shortly afterward.

Authorities have assured that the incident has not affected the heli shuttle services or the ongoing Kedarnath Yatra schedule, which will continue as planned.
