DEHRADUN: Daily Resolution of Drinking Water Issues is a Must: DM Savin Bansal

138 out of 142 Complaints Resolved So Far, Strict Monitoring Underway.

Dehradun, June 13.

As part of the Chief Minister’s Good Governance and Public Service Resolution, the Dehradun district administration is actively working to ensure the timely resolution of drinking water-related issues. District Magistrate Savin Bansal has issued firm instructions to address water supply complaints on a day-to-day basis, emphasizing that no complaint should be left unresolved without reason.

Between April 14 and June 13, the 24×7 control room received 142 complaints, of which 138 have already been resolved. To streamline the process, a district-level committee headed by the ADM has been formed to oversee and regularly monitor complaint redressal. Additionally, officers from seven key departments have been deployed at the control room since April 20 to ensure quick action.

Key Resolved Cases:

Canal Road: Water supply disrupted due to a valve failure in Gabbar Basti was promptly restored after repair.

Ganga Enclave: Damage to the water pipeline during electrical cable laying on June 11 was swiftly repaired.

GMS Road: Water line damaged due to digging by GAIL Gas and UPCL was restored.

Rishi Vihar: Complaint by Prem Singh Negi was resolved by the control room team.

Instructions from the DM:

The District Magistrate has directed officials to ensure continuous power supply to all tube wells and carry out regular monitoring in water-stressed areas. He also stressed the widespread dissemination of toll-free complaint numbers by both Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam across all divisions for quick public access.

“Every drop of water is valuable. Please avoid unnecessary wastage and support efforts in water conservation. Our shared goal is to ensure uninterrupted access to clean drinking water in every household.”
