Dehradun: A sex racket operating under the guise of a spa was busted by police on Monday in Dehradun. The raid, carried out by a joint team of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and Kotwali Cantt Police, took place at Nature True Spa & Salon on Chakrata Road.
During the operation, police rescued eight women who were later handed over to their families. Four people were arrested, including spa owner Anuj Singh and manager Sagar Chaudhary, both residents of Uttar Pradesh, along with two customers caught on the premises.
Police said the spa was luring customers through Just Dial and phone calls, offering “special services” and forcing women into immoral activities for extra money. During the raid, two men and two women were found in objectionable conditions in separate rooms, and several objectionable items were recovered from the scene.
A case has been registered under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act. Police officials said that similar surprise inspections will continue in the future to curb illegal activities being carried out in the name of spa centres in the city.
