Chief Secretary Inspects Secretariat Premises, Issues Key Directives for File Management and Infrastructure Improvement

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan carried out a detailed inspection of the Secretariat premises on Monday, reviewing cleanliness, file management, and infrastructure arrangements. During the visit, he emphasized the need for systematic record-keeping and directed officials to complete the weeding process of outdated files within one month.

The Chief Secretary instructed the Secretariat Administration to immediately re-circulate the rules regarding file weeding and ensure strict compliance across all sections. He also directed the identification and preparation of a dedicated record room at the earliest, so that essential files could be stored systematically after the weeding process.

Expressing concern over the functioning of multiple sections within single rooms, Bardhan ordered the arrangement of POTA cabins for 10–12 sections inside the Secretariat complex to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

He further instructed that the inspection roster of various sections under the Secretariat complex be re-circulated, ensuring that officers conduct inspections within the stipulated time frame. Stressing on workplace efficiency, he also called for the availability of all basic facilities in Secretariat buildings.

Secretary, Secretariat Administration, Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary, was also present during the inspection.
