President and Prime Minister to Attend Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations in Dehradun

Dehradun: Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is poised to mark a historic milestone as the state celebrates the Silver Jubilee of its formation, completing 25 glorious years of progress, culture and identity. To commemorate this special occasion, the President of India and the Prime Minister are scheduled to attend the grand celebrations in the state capital, Dehradun, as chief guests.

The event promises to be a vibrant reflection of Uttarakhand’s journey — showcasing the struggle and sacrifices behind its formation, the rich hues of its folk traditions, and the vision for its modern developmental trajectory. The celebrations will blend heritage with progress, symbolizing the aspirations of the state as it steps into its next phase of growth.

District Magistrate reviews preparations

In view of the high-profile participation, District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal convened a crucial meeting on Tuesday with all sub-divisional magistrates and senior officials to review and streamline the preparations for the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The DM directed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements and seamless coordination for the arrival and participation of the President and the Prime Minister. He emphasized that every detail — from security to hospitality — must adhere to protocol standards.

Showcasing the state’s journey

According to the DM, the route chart for the Prime Minister’s proposed program will include depictions of the statehood movement, performances reflecting the folk culture, and exhibits of Uttarakhand’s modern achievements. The event will serve as a living narrative of the state’s 25-year journey, connecting its roots with its vision for the future.

Meticulous planning and sector-wise responsibility

DM Bansal instructed that the entire event venue be divided into sectoral zones, with officers and personnel designated at each micro level to ensure smooth execution. He directed the City Magistrate to issue immediate duty orders assigning sector-wise officers-in-charge, along with security nodal officers to be deployed in coordination with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

For medical safety, the DM ordered the deployment of dedicated medical teams and ambulances at strategic locations.

Infrastructure and public arrangements

The District Magistrate emphasized that the venue should include a main pandal and stage, with proper seating arrangements for VVIPs, VIPs, and the general public. Facilities such as refreshments, drinking water, parking for VIPs and the public, and systematic entry and exit routes must be ensured.

A control room will be established at the venue to monitor arrangements round-the-clock. The DM also instructed that PWD engineers prepare the design and layout of the venue and obtain a safety certificate before the event. Additionally, a team of Revenue Sub-Inspectors will remain deployed 24×7 to oversee preparations and address any immediate issues.

Coordination with other districts

Highlighting that a large number of attendees will arrive from different parts of the state, DM Bansal directed officials to coordinate with district administrations across Uttarakhand to ensure proper transportation, accommodation, and crowd management for visitors.

Key officials present

Among those present at the review meeting were Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, SDM Sadar Harigiri, and SDM Kumkum Joshi, along with other senior officials from the district administration.
