DM Savin Bansal Reviews Republic Day Preparations

Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal reviewed preparations for Republic Day 2026, directing departments to ensure seamless arrangements. The Governor will unfurl the national flag at Parade Ground.

To ensure the Republic Day celebrations are conducted in a dignified, grand, and well-organized manner, District Magistrate Savin Bansal chaired an important review meeting on Thursday at the Rishiparna Auditorium, Collectorate. During the meeting, the District Magistrate directed all concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements through effective inter-departmental coordination.

The District Magistrate informed that flag unfurling will take place at 9:30 a.m. in all government offices on Republic Day. The main समारोह will be held at Parade Ground, Dehradun, where the Governor will unfurl the National Flag.

The Public Works Department was instructed to complete the construction of the main stage, barricading, and other necessary infrastructure at the venue in a timely manner. The Electricity Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, while the concerned department was asked to make adequate drinking water arrangements at the venue.

The Municipal Corporation was instructed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation at the venue and surrounding areas. The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) was directed to carry out beautification and decorative lighting at major locations across the city and on government buildings. The Culture Department was instructed to ensure special cleanliness and lighting arrangements at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

The District Magistrate also directed departments including Information, Forest, Rural Development, Tourism, Education, Energy, UREDA, Child Development, Agriculture, Health, and Culture to initiate preparations for departmental tableaux and to submit the required information well in advance.

Special emphasis was laid on ensuring proper seating arrangements for dignitaries in accordance with protocol at the main venue. All Sub-Divisional Magistrates were instructed to ensure due सम्मान for freedom fighters and their dependents in their respective jurisdictions.

The District Magistrate further directed that special illumination be arranged at all major intersections and government buildings on January 25 and 26. Additionally, patriotic songs will be played at prominent intersections from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on January 25 and from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on January 26.
The Culture Department was also instructed to organize a poetry recitation (Kavi Sammelan) at the Municipal Corporation Town Hall on January 25.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Kumar, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Joint Magistrate Rahul Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Harigiri, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Headquarters) Apurva Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kumkum Joshi, along with officers from various departments and representatives of the trade associations.
