CM Dhami Holds Talks with Prasoon Joshi on Cinema, Literature and Cultural Heritage

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met CBFC Chairman and noted writer-lyricist Prasoon Joshi. Discussions focused on promoting cinema, culture and developing Uttarakhand as a film shooting hub.

Dehradun | Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today received Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and a renowned author, poet, and lyricist, on a courtesy visit at the Chief Minister’s residence.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister lauded Prasoon Joshi’s outstanding and multi-dimensional contributions to the fields of literature, poetry, and cinema. The two held a meaningful discussion on various contemporary issues related to art, culture, literature, and the film industry.

During the interaction, detailed deliberations were held on Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk arts, folk music, and the vast potential of the state as a destination for film production and shooting. The Chief Minister stated that the Uttarakhand government is continuously working to develop the state as a film-friendly and shooting-friendly hub. For this purpose, policy support, incentives, and necessary facilitation are being provided to filmmakers.

Chief Minister Dhami appreciated the constructive and responsible leadership of Prasoon Joshi as Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification and expressed hope for future collaboration to expand cinema, literature, and cultural activities in Uttarakhand.

He further said that powerful mediums such as cinema and literature play a vital role in promoting the state’s cultural identity at national and international platforms.
