New LPG Rules for Weddings in Uttarakhand: ₹10 Affidavit Mandatory

Affidavit on ₹10 Stamp Paper Mandatory for Gas Cylinders in Wedding Functions; Apply 10 Days in Advance

Dehradun, April 6, 2026:
In order to ensure transparency and proper distribution, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Uttarakhand has introduced new guidelines for the allocation of gas cylinders for wedding ceremonies.

As per the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, a maximum of two commercial LPG cylinders will be allotted for wedding functions. Applicants must submit a ₹10 stamp paper affidavit, along with the wedding invitation card and Aadhaar card.

Applications must be submitted 10–12 days prior to the event to allow sufficient time for processing and coordination with gas agencies. Applications can be made at the District Supply Office in Dehradun Nagar area and at the offices of Regional Food Officers/Supply Inspectors across all तहसील areas.

Authorities clarified that these cylinders will be provided on a temporary basis and must be returned to the respective gas agency immediately after use. So far, 75 applications have been received in the district, and necessary action is being taken.

Gas agencies have been instructed to reserve 10% of their commercial cylinder stock for such requirements. Additionally, to prevent inconvenience to small shopkeepers, students, and laborers, arrangements have been made to supply 5 kg small LPG cylinders. Oil companies have also been directed to ensure adequate supply of both commercial and small cylinders.

Crackdown on Black Marketing: 4 Domestic Cylinders Seized by QRT

Acting on the District Magistrate’s orders, the Quick Response Team (QRT) is continuously carrying out enforcement drives to curb LPG black marketing. During a recent operation in the Dehradun Municipal area, four domestic LPG cylinders were seized from commercial establishments.
