Dehradun on High Alert Ahead of PM Visit, DM Reviews Preparations

Prime Minister’s visit on April 14, 2026 puts Dehradun administration on high alert. DM reviews security, traffic, sanitation, and medical arrangements ahead of the event.

Dehradun, April 8, 2026:
The district administration in Dehradun has gone into full alert mode in view of the Prime Minister’s proposed visit on April 14, 2026. To ensure seamless execution of the कार्यक्रम, District Magistrate Savin Bansal chaired a high-level review meeting at Rishiparna Auditorium in the Collectorate, issuing detailed निर्देश to all concerned departments.

As per the proposed schedule, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway at Ganeshpur in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) on April 14. Following the inauguration, he is expected to travel by road to the program venue at Garhi Cantt in Dehradun. Keeping this in mind, the administration is strengthening arrangements related to security, traffic management, sanitation, and healthcare services.

The District Magistrate directed the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Police Department to ensure proper barricading along the entire route with close coordination. The police have been instructed to maintain robust security arrangements, while MDDA has been tasked with beautification of the route and surrounding areas.

The Municipal Corporation has been directed to carry out extensive cleanliness drives along the route and at the event venue, and to ensure timely availability of mobile toilets, drinking water, and other essential facilities. The Chief Medical Officer has been instructed to deploy adequate medical teams, ambulances, and emergency services along the route and at the venue.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate also conducted a detailed review of arrangements at the venue, including stage construction, seating arrangements, parking facilities, entry and exit points, separate arrangements for VIPs and the general public, and a comprehensive traffic management plan.

Additionally, the Chief Development Officer has been directed to ensure the deployment of zonal and sector magistrates for smooth coordination and execution of the event. The District Magistrate emphasized timely, coordinated, and quality execution of all assigned responsibilities.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar, Additional District Magistrate K.K. Mishra, Additional CEO Smart City Limited Teerthpal Singh, SP City Pramod Kumar, Joint Magistrate Rahul Anand, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrates Harigiri, Apoorva Singh, Kumkum Joshi, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, and other senior officials from concerned departments.
