Weather to Shift Again in Uttarakhand: Rain, Strong Winds and Hail Alert in Next 48 Hours

The weather in Uttarakhand is set to change once again, with fresh alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the latest forecast, several parts of the state are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours, accompanied by strong winds and possible hailstorms in some regions.
The IMD has issued a specific alert for hilly districts including Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Nainital. These areas may experience intense weather activity, including spells of heavy rain and hail, which could impact normal life.
Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 30–40 km/h during this period, increasing the risk of falling trees and disruptions in power supply. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety advisories.
According to Meteorological Centre Director C.S. Tomar, unstable weather conditions are likely to persist across the state for the next couple of days, with rainfall expected at multiple locations. He also indicated that, as per the weekly forecast, intermittent light rain may continue in some districts until May 5.
