Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Announces Development Projects Worth ₹138 Crore for Almora

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Almora on Wednesday and dedicated development projects worth nearly ₹138 crore to the district. During a grand program held at the newly constructed administrative building of Soban Singh Jeena University, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a total of 26 development projects, including 17 inaugurations and 9 foundation-laying ceremonies.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. He emphasized that the government is continuously working to strengthen road connectivity, healthcare, education, drinking water supply, and other basic infrastructure facilities in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand.
He stated that Almora holds immense cultural, historical, and tourism significance, and keeping the district’s needs in mind, the government is implementing development projects in a planned manner. He added that the completion of these projects would provide better civic amenities to residents and accelerate the social and economic development of the region.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Almora and reiterated that the Uttarakhand government remains fully dedicated to public welfare and the overall development of the state.
Projects Worth ₹138 Crore Inaugurated and Launched
On this occasion, projects worth a total of ₹138.092 crore were inaugurated and launched. This includes projects worth ₹112.113 crore inaugurated and projects worth ₹25.979 crore for which foundation stones were laid.
Major Inaugurated Projects
The key projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister included the construction of damaged residential buildings and a conference hall in Ranikhet Tehsil, boundary wall construction at Government Women Polytechnic Almora, development of parking facilities in Almora town, multi-level parking projects at GIC Almora and KMOU Bus Stand, various group pumping drinking water schemes, road improvement and blacktopping works, flood protection projects, construction of a transit hostel at Community Health Centre Lamgara, and the construction of the administrative building and Vice Chancellor’s residence at Soban Singh Jeena University.
Major Foundation Stone Projects
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for several important projects, including the construction of a barrage at Govindpur-Daulaghat, beautification of Shri Sam Devta Temple in Danya Bazaar, classroom construction at Government Inter College Mahakaleshwar, road improvement and blacktopping works in multiple assembly constituencies, and one-time maintenance works on various motor roads.

The event was attended by Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Hema Gaida, Ranikhet MLA Dr. Pramod Nainwal, Vice Chancellor of Soban Singh Jeena University Satpal Singh Bisht, District Magistrate Anshul Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar R. Ghodke, along with public representatives, university officials, and a large number of local residents.
