Char Dham Yatra 2026: Book Helicopter Tickets from Home via IRCTC Portal, Heli Shuttle Tender in Final Stage

Ahead of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra 2026, preparations for helicopter shuttle services are nearing completion. The tender process being conducted by the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has reached its final stage, and around 8 to 9 helicopter companies are expected to operate services for pilgrims this year.
To ensure a transparent and hassle-free booking system, helicopter ticket reservations will be managed online in collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Pilgrims will be able to book heli tickets only through the official portal heliyatra.irctc.co.in.
Booking Only Through Official Portal
Considering that the pilgrimage will commence on April 19, helicopter tickets for the Char Dham Yatra will be available exclusively through the official IRCTC portal. This system has been introduced to prevent fraudulent agents, black marketing, and unauthorized bookings, ensuring that devotees receive tickets in a fair and transparent manner.
Major Relief for Elderly and Divyang Pilgrims
Every year, thousands of devotees visit the sacred shrines of Kedarnath Temple, Badrinath Temple, Gangotri Temple, and Yamunotri Temple during the Char Dham pilgrimage. Helicopter services provide significant convenience, especially for elderly and differently-abled pilgrims traveling from distant states. To enhance their travel experience, arrangements have been further strengthened this year.
UCADA Control Room to Handle Complaints
To address any issues related to heli ticket bookings, UCADA has established a dedicated control room, which will remain active during the pilgrimage period. Pilgrims can also register their complaints or queries directly through IRCTC customer care services.
Statement from UCADA CEO
UCADA CEO Dr. Ashish Chauhan stated that the tender process for helicopter shuttle services is in its final stage. He informed that around 8–9 helicopter operators will provide services during the Char Dham Yatra this year.
He also urged pilgrims to book helicopter tickets only through the official portal heliyatra.irctc.co.in to avoid fraud or unauthorized bookings.
