Baba Ramdev Meets CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Discusses Yoga, Ayurveda and Wellness Development in Uttarakhand

 

Dehradun: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. During the courtesy meeting, the two discussed various issues related to the development of Uttarakhand, promotion of yoga and Ayurveda, and the state’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Uttarakhand is known not only as Devbhoomi, but also as a land of yoga, Ayurveda and natural healing. He said the state government is continuously working to strengthen this distinctive identity at the national and global levels.

The Chief Minister said yoga and Ayurveda are important parts of India’s ancient knowledge traditions. Their promotion can help create new opportunities in healthcare, tourism, employment and self-employment in Uttarakhand.

Dhami highlighted the immense potential of the state in wellness, yoga and Ayurveda-based tourism. He said the government is taking necessary steps to promote these sectors and leverage Uttarakhand’s natural and spiritual strengths.

He said the state’s Himalayan environment, rich natural resources and spiritual heritage provide a strong foundation for developing Uttarakhand as a global centre for yoga, Ayurveda and wellness. Linking these traditional sectors with tourism and the local economy can also create new employment and self-employment opportunities for local communities and youth.

Baba Ramdev appreciated the efforts being undertaken in Uttarakhand to promote yoga, Ayurveda and natural healing. He said the state’s Himalayan environment, natural wealth and spiritual heritage make it ideally suited to emerge as a global centre for yoga and Ayurveda.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the possibilities of integrating Uttarakhand’s traditional knowledge systems with modern requirements and further establishing the state as a leading destination for yoga, Ayurveda and wellness tourism.
