CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Flags Off 5KM Road Safety Run in Dehradun

Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday flagged off a 5-kilometre run from Cantt Road in Dehradun, organized to promote road safety awareness and environmental conservation. Hundreds of participants from various age groups, including youth, women, senior citizens, and school students, enthusiastically took part in the awareness run.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister administered a pledge to all participants, urging them to strictly follow traffic rules and actively contribute to environmental protection. He emphasized that in view of rising traffic challenges and environmental concerns, public participation is crucial. “Using helmets and seat belts, adhering to speed limits, avoiding drunk driving, and respecting traffic signals are the responsibility of every citizen. Similarly, protecting the environment and reducing pollution is our collective duty,” he stated.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is continuously working to reduce road accidents through awareness campaigns, strict enforcement measures, and strengthening of infrastructure. He also noted that initiatives such as tree plantation drives, plastic-free campaigns, and efforts to maintain a clean environment are being actively promoted across the state.

MLAs Khajan Das and Savita Kapoor, along with senior officials from the Transport Department and local administration, were present at the event. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates and a collective resolve to build a safer and greener Uttarakhand.
