CM Dhami Inaugurates Development Projects Worth ₹112 Crore; Announces 44% Rise in Reverse Migration

Nainital: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 17 development projects worth ₹112.34 crore during a public programme held at Letibunga ground in Gram Panchayat Shashbani. He also visited stalls put up by women self-help groups and various departments, appreciating the products made by local women entrepreneurs.

Major Announcements for Bhimtal Region

The Chief Minister announced several new development works for the Bhimtal assembly constituency, including:

  • Construction of mini stadiums in villages such as Bheedapani, Nai, Dalkanaya, Devnagar, Silaouti and Sundarkhal.

  • Blacktopping of Karayal Band–Takura Forest Chowki Road.

  • Completion of the remaining work on Bhimtal Bypass Canal Covering.

  • Establishment of a new parking facility and new Roadways bus station in Bhimtal.

  • Setting up a new fire station in Bhimtal town.

  • Strengthening of roads including Naukuchiatal–Khadki Kharaula, Kasiyalekh–Kafli–Padiknala, and Badon–Simliya–Sanni Motor Road.

He added that acting swiftly on complaints regarding the condition of Main Road–10, the government has approved ₹9.5 crore for reconstruction.

Uttarakhand Achieving New Milestones

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is setting new benchmarks in infrastructure growth across sectors such as roads, education, healthcare and drinking water.
He highlighted that redevelopment work of major spiritual sites including Kainchi Dham, Naina Devi Temple and Mukteshwar Dham is underway in mission mode.

Reverse Migration up by 44%, Unemployment Down

Highlighting efforts to curb migration from the hills, he said that government initiatives like ‘One District–Two Products’, ‘House of Himalayas’, the State Millet Mission, Homestay Scheme and ‘Wed in Uttarakhand’ have boosted the rural economy.
According to the latest report of the Migration Commission:

  • Reverse migration has increased by 44%,

  • Unemployment has fallen by 4.4%,

  • Uttarakhand ranks 1st in the country on NITI Aayog’s SDG Index.

Strict Anti-Cheating Law Showing Results

Calling the state’s anti-copying legislation the toughest in the country, he stated that:

  • Over 26,000 youth have secured government jobs in recent years.

  • More than 100 paper-leak and cheating mafia have been jailed.

  • Vigilance has taken action against over 200 government officials in corruption-related cases.

Key Projects Inaugurated

Projects inaugurated include:

  • Improvement of Bhowali Bypass Part 1 & 2

  • Bhimtal Bypass road strengthening

  • 50-bed Critical Care Unit in Nainital

  • Library and multipurpose hall at LBS College, Halduchaud

  • Cowshed construction in Puchhdi

  • Library, computer lab and science lab at Government School Jadapani

Foundation Stones Laid

  • Examination hall at Government College Lalkuan

  • Boundary wall at Lal Bahadur Shastri College

  • Pool covering and safety works at Gaulapar Stadium

  • Public facilities at Betalghat, Pangot–Daichauri and Okhalkanda

MLA Bhimtal Ram Singh Kaida expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving multiple projects and briefed about ongoing development activities in the region.

The event was attended by District Panchayat Chairperson Deepa Darmawal, BJP District President Pratap Bisht, Block Chief Bhawna Arya, KD Rubali from Okhalkanda, DM Lalit Mohan Rayal, SP Traffic Jagdish Chandra, public representatives, dignitaries and local residents.
