CM Dhami Promotes ‘Local for Vocal’, Walks to Local Stall in Lohiyahead and Tastes Tikki
Chief Minister interacts warmly with local traders and residents, highlights the importance of supporting small businesses and self-employment
Lohiyahead: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday promoted the spirit of ‘Local for Vocal’ during his visit to Lohiyahead, encouraging local businesses and self-employment initiatives. In an informal gesture, the Chief Minister walked among the people and stopped at a popular local stall run by Ravi, where he tasted tikki.
The Chief Minister’s decision to walk through the area and interact directly with local residents generated considerable enthusiasm among people and traders. During his interaction with Ravi, the stall operator, CM Dhami enquired about his business and livelihood activities and appreciated his efforts to earn a living through local self-employment.
CM Dhami Emphasizes Support for Local Businesses
Interacting with local shopkeepers and residents, the Chief Minister said that promoting local products, traditional food and small businesses should not be viewed merely as a government responsibility. It requires collective participation from society.
He said the ‘Local for Vocal’ initiative is an effective means of strengthening the local economy, encouraging self-employment and advancing the goal of self-reliance.
CM Dhami emphasized that giving preference to locally available products and services directly benefits local artisans, small traders, youth and people engaged in self-employment. Strengthening local businesses also contributes to the creation of employment opportunities and supports the broader objective of building a self-reliant Uttarakhand.
