At Uttarakhand Creators Meet 2025, CM unveils vision for Digital Uttarakhand**

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday described social media influencers as “social change makers,” emphasizing their growing power in shaping society, governance, and public opinion. He was addressing the Uttarakhand Creators Meet – 2025 held in Dehradun, where hundreds of content creators, vloggers, digital entrepreneurs, and youth from across the country participated.

Calling the event a “confluence of youthful ideas and digital energy,” the Chief Minister engaged in an informal Q&A session with creators, speaking extensively about governance, development, social media ethics, emerging opportunities, and the state’s upcoming digital policies.

Strong Communication Bridge: ‘A single tweet can bring an instant solution’

Highlighting the expanding role of digital platforms in governance, CM Dhami said that social media has now become the fastest medium for grievance redressal.
Earlier, people had to visit government offices repeatedly, he said, but now “an immediate solution is possible through a single tweet or message.”

He added that departments across the state — including the Chief Minister’s Office — are actively communicating with citizens through digital platforms, making administration more transparent, accountable, and sensitive.

Zero-tolerance against corruption: Over 200 officials face action

Responding to a question on corruption, the Chief Minister reiterated that the Uttarakhand government has adopted a strict zero-tolerance policy.
He said that action has already been taken against more than 200 officers and employees, and asserted that the campaign against corruption would continue with full determination.

Transparency, efficiency, and accountability, he added, remain the government’s top priorities.

Uttarakhand’s contribution to ‘Developed India @2047’

On a creator’s question regarding PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, CM Dhami said that the goal can be accomplished only if every block, tehsil, district, and village becomes stronger and more empowered.

He noted that Uttarakhand is showing rapid progress in multiple sectors:

  • Infrastructure and connectivity: Large-scale expansion of heli-services for hill travel

  • Tourism: Record-breaking tourist arrivals each year

  • Women empowerment: Growth in self-employment and local product industries

  • Industrial ecosystem:

    • MoUs worth ₹3.56 lakh crore signed

    • Investments of over ₹1 lakh crore already grounded

  • GSDP: Target of doubling the state’s GSDP achieved

The Global Investors Summit and national-level roadshows, he said, have significantly increased investor confidence in Uttarakhand.

Women of Uttarakhand are setting national benchmarks

Addressing a question on women’s participation in development, CM Dhami praised the contribution of women self-help groups, entrepreneurs, and artisans.

He said that the purity and quality of many local products created by women in Uttarakhand surpass those of major multinational brands. The government, he added, is launching new schemes to further strengthen women-led entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

New Social Media Policy to be implemented next year

The Chief Minister confirmed that Uttarakhand’s new social media policy will be implemented in the coming year.
The policy will focus on:

  • Better dissemination of government information

  • Strengthening digital communication

  • Offering more opportunities to youth and creators

  • Increasing the state’s global digital presence

The aim, he said, is to encourage creators and effectively promote Uttarakhand’s culture, tourism, entrepreneurship, and achievements.

‘Fact-check before posting’ — CM warns against misleading content

CM Dhami expressed concern over the misuse of social media for spreading false information, rumors, or content that may disturb social harmony.

He appealed to creators to:

  • Avoid misinformation

  • Fact-check before posting

  • Uphold ethics and social responsibility

  • Refrain from negative or harmful content created merely for views or popularity

He said some creators, in the race for digital fame, publish content that damages the image of society, religion, government, or the state — a trend that must be discouraged.

Creators can boost Uttarakhand’s tourism and local economy

CM Dhami emphasized that the creator community can play a direct role in the state’s development.
Positive content on:

  • Tourist destinations

  • Local products

  • Handicrafts

  • Folk culture

  • Traditional skills

  • Community success stories

…can bring national recognition and significantly strengthen the local economy.

He added that even a single positive story about a local artisan can transform lives and open new markets for them.

The Chief Minister encouraged creators to report any public issues or grievances they notice. He assured immediate action on such information, saying creators are now an important link in improving governance.

Committed to building the best-performing state in India

CM Dhami reiterated that the government is working tirelessly with its mantra of “unwavering resolve” to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country. He expressed confidence that the energetic and innovative creator community will play a major role in realizing this vision.
