CM Dhami Orders Suspension of DIG-Level Officer in Uniform Procurement Scam

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken strict action under the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption by ordering the immediate suspension of Amitabh Srivastava, Director Home Guards (Deputy Commandant), for his alleged involvement in irregularities related to the procurement of uniform materials in the Home Guards and Civil Defence Department. The Chief Minister has also directed the formation of a Joint Inquiry Committee to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter.

The case pertains to the procurement process for uniform materials for Home Guards during the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26, in which serious financial irregularities and violations of prescribed tender norms were reportedly detected.

According to a report submitted to the state government by the Director General, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dehradun, the tendering process lacked transparency and failed to comply with established procurement rules. Based on the recommendations made in the report, the Chief Minister approved immediate disciplinary action against the concerned officer and ordered a comprehensive inquiry.

Reiterating the government’s firm stance, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the state administration is fully committed to maintaining zero tolerance towards corruption. He emphasized that any form of irregularity or corrupt practice, at any level of governance, will not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister further asserted that strictest possible action will be taken against any officer or employee found guilty during the inquiry, in accordance with established rules and regulations. He underlined that safeguarding public trust and ensuring transparency in governance remain the top priorities of the state government.

The action is being viewed as another strong message from the Dhami government reaffirming its uncompromising stand against corruption in Uttarakhand.
