Dehradun Bar Association to Get Professional Office Building Soon, DM Reviews Design and Construction Plan
Dehradun, September 11, 2026: The proposed professional office building for advocates of the Dehradun Bar Association is moving forward, with the district administration accelerating work on its design and construction plan. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan held a meeting with officials of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) and office-bearers of the Bar Association on Friday to review the proposed building project.
During the meeting, officials held a detailed discussion on the survey plan, key plan, land area, site plan, parking facilities, entry and exit arrangements and other technical aspects of the proposed building.
Construction Planned on 8,881.28 Sq. Metres of Land
MDDA Senior Architect Drishti Jain presented the proposed design and construction plan. She informed the meeting that a survey of 8,881.28 square metres of land identified for the building has been completed.
The proposed structure will comprise a ground floor along with seven additional floors. The building plan includes 10×10-sized chambers for advocates.
The design also incorporates facilities for both advocates and the general public, including appropriate entry and exit arrangements, vehicle parking and other essential amenities. Various technical aspects have been incorporated into the plan keeping the functionality and intended use of the building in mind.
DM Stresses Fire Safety and Emergency Arrangements
District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan directed officials to give special attention to the fire safety plan, emergency exits and lift system while finalising the building design and construction proposal.
The DM said that the building would witness regular movement of not only advocates but also members of the general public. Therefore, all necessary arrangements related to safety, smooth movement, emergency evacuation and fire protection must be ensured in accordance with prescribed standards.
He directed the concerned officials to complete the final proposal for the building at the earliest after incorporating all necessary technical requirements, so that the subsequent construction process can proceed in a timely manner.
The meeting was attended by MDDA Executive Engineer S.S. Rawat, Senior Architect Drishti Jain, Bar Association President Anil Kukreti, Secretary Ajay Bisht, Senior Counsel R.S. Rawat, Prem Chandra Sharma, Anurag Gupta and Dharmveer Negi.
