Corruption Exposed in Doiwala: Education Officer Held Taking Bribe

Major Crackdown on Corruption: Deputy Education Officer and Female Associate Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹1 Lakh Bribe in Dehradun

Dehradun:
In a significant action against corruption in Uttarakhand, the Vigilance Department has arrested a Deputy Education Officer posted in the Doiwala area of Dehradun along with his female associate while accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. The accused were caught red-handed during a trap operation, marking a strong enforcement of the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state has intensified its crackdown on corrupt practices. The government has reiterated its firm stance that corruption at any level will not be tolerated, regardless of the position or influence of those involved.

Corruption in a Sensitive Matter

According to officials, the bribe demand was linked to an RTE (Right to Education) reimbursement case—a highly sensitive issue that directly impacts the rights of children from economically weaker sections. Engaging in corruption in such matters is not only illegal but also a serious ethical violation.

Swift Action by Vigilance Department

The Vigilance Department acted promptly on the complaint and conducted a successful trap operation, leading to the arrest of both accused. Authorities have been actively carrying out such operations across the state to curb corruption and ensure accountability within the system.

Step Towards Transparency and Accountability

The state government is focused not just on policymaking but on ensuring effective implementation at the ground level. Continuous strict actions are being taken to strengthen transparency and accountability within the administrative framework.
