Dehradun Publishes Draft Electoral Roll; Claims and Objections Accepted Till August 13
Over 1.19 million voters registered; polling stations increase to 2,045

The draft electoral roll for Dehradun district has been published following the completion of the month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign aimed at ensuring a clean, updated, and error-free voter database. Eligible citizens can now submit claims and objections regarding voter registration or corrections between July 14 and August 13, 2026.
District Magistrate and District Election Officer Dr. Ashish Chauhan chaired a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties and distributed the draft electoral roll, ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) voter list, service voter list, and polling station details in both hard copy and digital format.
He urged political parties to thoroughly verify the voter list at the booth level and immediately report any discrepancies so that corrections can be completed within the stipulated timeline.
According to the published draft electoral roll, Dehradun district has 1,190,805 registered voters, including 9,369 service voters and 10,130 persons with disabilities (PwD) voters. The number of polling stations has increased from 1,882 to 2,045 following the approval of new polling locations.
The District Election Officer informed that photo electoral rolls, service voter lists, and lists of absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate voters for all 10 Assembly constituencies have been shared with political parties. Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have also been designated for each constituency.
Citizens whose names are missing from the electoral roll or who require corrections in personal details can submit applications through the concerned ERO, AERO, Booth Level Officer (BLO), or online via the Election Commission’s website and mobile application. All claims and objections will be disposed of by September 11, 2026, while the final electoral roll will be published on September 15, 2026.
Dr. Chauhan also urged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) at the earliest. He informed that appointments are still pending at 35 booths for the BJP, 103 booths for the Indian National Congress, and 1,394 booths for CPI(M), while Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have not yet appointed BLA-2 representatives at any polling station.
Senior election officials and representatives of recognized political parties attended the meeting.
