Dehradun Janata Darshan: 163 complaints received. Widow gets financial aid, maintenance cases filed, probe ordered in harassment and property fraud cases.
Dehradun: Under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the District Administration’s Janata Darshan/Public Hearing Programme continues to strengthen public trust by ensuring swift grievance redressal. On Monday, a total of 163 complaints were received during the public hearing held at Rishiparna Auditorium, Collectorate, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Savin Bansal.
Complaints related to land disputes, encroachment, maintenance claims, bank loans, financial assistance, pensions, labor payments, and civic issues were taken up. The District Magistrate directed all concerned officials to ensure time-bound disposal and to inform complainants about the action taken.
Financial Relief for Widow; Pension Approved on the Spot
A widow from Indranagar sought help after the demise of her husband, citing severe financial hardship in raising her three children. The District Magistrate approved immediate financial assistance from the Rifle Club Fund and directed the District Social Welfare Officer to sanction widow pension without delay and report compliance.
Maintenance Cases Filed for Elderly Parents
An elderly woman from the Race Course area complained that her sons had forced her and her husband out of their house and were preventing them from entering, along with verbal and physical abuse. The District Magistrate ordered the immediate registration of a case under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act.
More than five cases under the Act were registered during the hearing, with online FIRs lodged on the spot.
Probe Ordered in Property Fraud Case
An 81-year-old woman from Doiwala alleged that her granddaughter’s husband fraudulently transferred her property and siphoned money from her bank account through online transactions. The granddaughter reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in 2024. The District Magistrate directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Judicial) to conduct a detailed inquiry and initiate necessary action.
Action on Sewer Line, Electricity Pole & Road Quality Issues

In a complaint regarding incomplete sewer line work, the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) and Disaster Management Officer were asked to seek clarification from UUSDA and resolve the issue.

A resident of Vidhata Enclave raised concerns about the delay in electricity pole shifting despite payment in 2024; the Executive Engineer (Electricity) was directed to explain the delay and ensure prompt action.

Regarding substandard road construction by ADB in Mothrowala, the Project Director, UUSDA, was instructed to conduct a quality inspection and take corrective steps.
Inquiry Ordered in Teacher Harassment Case
A retired teacher alleged harassment by the Principal of a Police Public School. The District Magistrate directed the Chief Education Officer to investigate the matter and submit an Action Taken Report by February 20.
Committee Formed to Probe Encroachment
On complaints of illegal encroachment on Vinoba Bhave Trust land in Chharba (Vikasnagar Tehsil), a committee was constituted under the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Vikasnagar, with instructions to submit a report within 10 days.
Legal Opinion Sought Against Finance Company
A senior citizen alleged that a private finance company sanctioned a personal loan to his son merely on the basis of an electricity bill and later pasted a recovery notice at his residence. The District Magistrate sought legal opinion from the DGC (Civil) regarding appropriate action.
Labor and Wage-Related Complaints

A laborer from Sudhowala complained of unpaid wages and confiscated tools by a contractor; the Assistant Labour Commissioner was directed to investigate.

A daily wage worker from Aryanagar sought payment of long-pending dues from a private establishment; the matter was referred to the Labour Department for necessary action.

The “on-the-spot solution” approach under the Chief Minister’s guidance is strengthening public faith in governance and ensuring justice reaches citizens swiftly.
