LPG Supply Under Scanner in Dehradun, 88,000 Backlog Raises Concern

Dehradun administration forms QRT teams to stop LPG black marketing and ensure home delivery. Over 88,000 backlog reported after software glitch; inspections and action underway.

Dehradun, March 22:
The district administration has taken strict measures to curb black marketing of LPG cylinders and ensure 100% home delivery across the district. Acting on the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been formed for different areas.

These teams conducted inspections of gas agencies across the district today, reviewing LPG demand, supply, and distribution systems. The inspections aimed to ensure that consumers are receiving cylinders on time in a transparent and efficient manner.

A total of 12 complaints related to LPG supply were received through the control room numbers—1077, 0135-2626066, 2726066—and WhatsApp number 7534826066. The District Food and Civil Supplies Department in Dehradun is taking immediate action on these complaints to prevent inconvenience to consumers.

According to official data, around 15,118 domestic consumers and 369 commercial consumers received LPG cylinders today. However, there is still a backlog of approximately 88,000 domestic cylinder deliveries. Currently, the district has a stock of 42,334 domestic and 1,535 commercial cylinders.

Officials stated that the backlog was primarily caused by a technical issue in the booking software that lasted for three days. During this period, gas distribution was managed manually, and over 25,000 entries are now being updated in the system.

The administration has assured that the supply of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders is being steadily increased, and all efforts are underway to normalize the situation at the earliest.
