Holi Celebrations Light Up CM Residence with Uttarakhand Folk Culture Performances

The Chief Minister’s residence in Dehradun witnessed a vibrant Holi Milan celebration featuring folk artists from Garhwal, Kumaon and Jaunsar regions. Traditional Holi songs, Harul dance and cultural performances showcased Uttarakhand’s rich heritage.

The Chief Minister’s residence witnessed a vibrant celebration of colours, culture, and tradition on Monday as a grand Holi Milan programme brought together folk artists from across Uttarakhand. Artists representing Garhwal, Kumaon, and Jaunsar-Bawar regions filled the premises with traditional music, dance, and festive enthusiasm.

From the morning onwards, groups of folk artists and cultural performers arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence singing traditional Holi songs. The rhythmic beats of traditional instruments such as dhol, damau, and manjeera created a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

Jaunsari artists captivated the audience with the traditional Harul dance, while Holi singers from Kumaon performed the famous Baithki and Khadi Holi folk songs. A cultural troupe from the Rath region of Pauri district also enthralled attendees with traditional folk performances, including the song “Aai Dandyu Basant, Daali Ma Maulyar.” Kumaoni artists invited everyone to join the celebrations through the popular Holi call, “Aao Dagadiyo, Nacha Gaava, Aa Gayi Rangeeli Holi.”

During the event, people from different walks of life, public representatives, and cultural enthusiasts greeted Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by applying colours and extending Holi wishes. The Chief Minister actively participated in the celebrations and was seen enjoying the festivities, even dancing along with the folk artists.

The Chief Minister’s residence turned into a vibrant cultural confluence showcasing the unity in diversity of Uttarakhand’s rich traditions. Folk music, dance, and community participation highlighted the state’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.

Folk artists present on the occasion appreciated the state government’s efforts towards preserving and promoting traditional culture. They expressed happiness over receiving recognition and opportunities to showcase their art, stating that initiatives under the Chief Minister’s leadership are helping strengthen and sustain Uttarakhand’s folk traditions.
