Indian Traditions Hold Solutions to Global Challenges: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Indian traditions offer solutions to global challenges while addressing Gayatri Parivar’s centenary event in Haridwar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that Indian traditions and Sanatan values contain solutions to the world’s contemporary challenges. Addressing the centenary celebrations of the All World Gayatri Parivar in Haridwar, he lauded the organization for its significant contributions to social reform, cultural preservation and nation building, while paying tribute to the visionary legacy of Yugrishi Acharya Shri Ram Sharma.

The Union Home Minister stated that Acharya Shri Ram Sharma worked to eliminate distortions that had crept into Sanatan Dharma over time and successfully linked spirituality with social responsibility. Through his efforts, values such as equality, cultural consciousness, national unity and integrity were strengthened. He described the philosophy of “Nation building through individual and social transformation” as Acharya’s enduring contribution to humanity.
Shah referred to the message (हम सुधरेंगे, युग सुधरेगा) “We will reform ourselves, and the era will transform” as a guiding mantra for human welfare and called upon people to spread it among the masses.

Highlighting the progress of the nation, the Home Minister said that over the past decade, India has witnessed a remarkable positive transformation in work culture and collective mindset. Today, India is respected globally for its glorious heritage, culture and civilizational values. Referring to great thinkers such as Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo, he emphasized that India’s rise will ensure the rise of humanity as a whole.
He noted that stepping into Devbhoomi Haridwar evokes a deep spiritual experience and that the Gayatri Mantra awakens harmony, national service and human welfare within individuals. He urged the youth to adopt self-improvement as the greatest form of social service.

Gayatri Parivar is Strengthening Spiritual and Social Awakening: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in his address, described the Gayatri Parivar as a vast banyan tree, providing the shade of peace, positivity and moral values to society through spiritual awareness. He said that India is re-establishing its ancient culture, knowledge and science in a modern framework, and collective efforts are required to ensure that the universal message of Sanatan culture reaches the global stage.
The Chief Minister stated that the Gayatri Parivar is playing a vital role in spiritual and ethical awakening within society.

Representing the All World Gayatri Parivar, Dr. Chinmay Pandya said that the organization’s philosophy does not promote withdrawal from society, but rather encourages active engagement in society for human welfare and social upliftment. Drawing inspiration from the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, the institution is integrating modern technology to contribute effectively to education, training and nation building. He emphasized that protection of Sanatan Dharma is intrinsically linked to the protection of national duty.

The event was attended by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh, MLA Madan Kaushik, along with a large gathering of Gayatri devotees and followers from across India and abroad.
