Pushkar Singh Dhami reviews Kumbh Mela 2027 preparations in Haridwar, directs timely completion of infrastructure, safety systems, and 33 key projects for a grand आयोजन.

Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027 during his visit to Haridwar, directing officials to ensure that all arrangements are completed within stipulated timelines for a grand and well-organized events.
Chairing a high-level meeting at Damkothi, the Chief Minister emphasized that no shortcomings should be left at any level in organizing an event of such massive religious and cultural significance. He instructed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure efficient execution of all planning.
The Chief Minister assured that there will be no shortage of funds for Kumbh-related works and that all necessary approvals for proposed projects will be granted promptly. During the meeting, he also spoke to the Chief Secretary over the phone, directing swift action at the शासन level.
Focus on Core Infrastructure
Reviewing progress on roads, bridges, drinking water, healthcare, traffic, and parking facilities, the Chief Minister stressed maintaining both quality and timeliness. He directed departments to strategize keeping in mind the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, monsoon season, and Kanwar Yatra.
Modern Security and Control Systems
Highlighting the importance of safety, the Chief Minister directed that an advanced Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC) equipped with modern technology be established on priority to ensure effective monitoring and management during the event.
He also reviewed the proposed CCR-2 building project near the Mela Control Building and assured that it would receive financial approval soon to strengthen administrative control during the Mela.
Improved Connectivity and Pilgrim Facilities
To facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims, instructions were issued to prioritize projects related to Khadkhadi Bridge and Shriyant Bridge. Additionally, emphasis was laid on strengthening infrastructure, sanitation, and sewerage systems across all Kumbh sectors, including Rishikesh and Muni Ki Reti.
The Chief Minister also directed the expansion of the Damkothi Guest House, proposing the construction of a modern and well-equipped new facility.
33 Projects Under Progress
Mela Officer Sonika informed that 33 permanent infrastructure projects—covering roads, bridges, ghats, water supply, healthcare, security, and overall Mela management—are currently under construction and progressing as per schedule.
She further stated that improvement works for access routes to Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple have also been approved to enhance convenience for devotees.
Participation of Public Representatives
The meeting was attended by public representatives and senior administrative officials, who reviewed ongoing preparations and shared their inputs.
