SC Commission Cracks Down on Land Disputes, 10 Cases Resolved in Dehradun Hearing

The Scheduled Caste Commission heard 17 land dispute cases in Dehradun and resolved 10 on the spot, issuing strict directions for pending cases as per the Chief Minister’s instructions.

Dehradun:

In compliance with the directions of the Chief Minister, the Scheduled Caste Commission conducted a dedicated hearing on Thursday to ensure the speedy resolution of land-related cases concerning members of the Scheduled Caste community. During the hearing, a total of 17 cases were taken up, out of which 10 cases were resolved on the spot, while clear instructions were issued to the concerned officials for the early disposal of the remaining cases.

During the proceedings, the Commission addressed land dispute cases related to Baburam, Chaman Lal, Mohan Lal, Suresh Chand, and Pramila from Haridwar, as well as Pushpa Devi, Jokla Devi, Vinod Kumar, Joginder, Brahmpal, Om Prakash, and Suryakant from Dehradun. After examining the facts of each case, the Commission directed the concerned revenue and administrative authorities to ensure immediate action in matters related to land demarcation, measurement, and removal of unauthorized encroachments.

It is noteworthy that most of the cases presented before the Commission pertained to delays in land demarcation, pending measurements, and illegal occupation of land, which had remained unresolved for a long period. The Commission’s proactive intervention has led to significant progress toward resolving these long-pending disputes.

The Commission reiterated that the protection of land rights of Scheduled Caste citizens and ensuring fair and timely justice remain its top priority. Such hearings will continue to be conducted regularly to strengthen social justice and ensure administrative accountability.
