Scholarship Application Deadline Set for September 30; Institutions Directed to Ensure Timely Applications

Students seeking scholarships for the academic session 2026-27 have been advised to complete their applications within the prescribed timeline. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) scholarship application deadline has been fixed as September 30, 2026. The District Social Welfare Department has directed all schools, colleges and other educational institutions in Dehradun district to ensure that eligible students complete their online scholarship applications before the deadline.
District Social Welfare Officer Dipankar Ghildiyal has instructed principals and heads of educational institutions to disseminate information about the applicable scholarship schemes among eligible students and facilitate timely submission of their online applications.
He also made it clear that if an eligible student is deprived of the scholarship benefit due to failure or negligence on the part of the concerned educational institution to complete the application process within the stipulated period, responsibility will be fixed on the institution concerned.
SC, ST, OBC, EBC and PwD students covered
According to the Social Welfare Department, ensuring scholarship benefits for eligible students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is among its priorities.
Educational institutions have been instructed not only to facilitate submission of applications but also to complete scrutiny, verification and other necessary formalities within the prescribed timeline.
Institutions asked to resolve technical issues promptly
The department has also issued necessary guidelines to educational institutions for addressing technical and other issues related to scholarship applications and the National Scholarship Portal. Online assistance is also being made available to facilitate students and institutions during the application process.
The District Social Welfare Officer has appealed to educational institutions not to wait until the September 30 deadline and to complete the applications and verification of all eligible students well in advance.
The department aims to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of scholarship benefits due to delays or lapses in the application and verification process.
