Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Monsoon Session Adjourned Sine Die
Gairsain: The monsoon session of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha was adjourned sine die on Wednesday by Speaker Ritu Khanduri. On the concluding day, the House passed a supplementary budget of ₹5,315 crore along with eight key bills.
The proceedings began on a stormy note for the second consecutive day, with opposition Congress members demanding a discussion under Rule 310 on the State’s law-and-order situation. Soon after the session commenced, Congress legislators trooped into the well of the House in protest.
Despite the uproar, the House approved the supplementary budget—₹2,152.37 crore under the revenue head and ₹3,163.02 crore under the capital account head—through a voice vote.
In addition, several important bills were passed, including:
Uttarakhand Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2005
Uttarakhand Minority Education Institutions Bill, 2025
Uttarakhand Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2025
Uttarakhand Democracy Fighters Honour Bill, 2025
Uttarakhand Witness Protection (Repeal) Bill, 2025
The Badrinath and Kedarnath Temple Act, 1939 (Amendment) Bill, 2025
Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2025
The session, marked by heated exchanges between the treasury and opposition benches, concluded with the passage of these financial and legislative measures.
