Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Interact with Farmers in Rishikesh Tomorrow; CM Dhami to Attend

Rishikesh: Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Rishikesh on Tuesday, May 6, to engage with farmers and self-help groups at the IDPL Ground. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present during the event.

The program, scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM, will see the Union Minister interacting with members of self-help groups associated with the Rural Development, Horticulture, and Agriculture Departments, including “Lakhpati Didis” and progressive farmers. The minister will inspect stalls showcasing local products made by self-help groups and will address the gathering on various initiatives and activities related to rural development and agriculture.

Preparations in Full Swing

Following instructions from District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the district administration is actively preparing for the event. On Monday, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah visited the IDPL Ground to review the preparations. He instructed all concerned officials to ensure that arrangements are completed on time.

Various departments including Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, and NABARD will set up stalls to exhibit products made by local self-help groups. During the site inspection, officials including SDM Yogesh Mehra, District Development Officer Sunil Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Chief Agriculture Officer Devendra Singh Rana, Assistant Director Agriculture V.P. Maurya, and CHO Ashish Prajapati were present.

The visit aims to highlight government efforts to support rural entrepreneurship and agricultural development, as well as to provide a platform for direct dialogue between policymakers and farmers.
