Chief Minister reviews monsoon preparedness, disaster management, Char Dham and Kanwar Yatra, road repairs and development works with all district magistrates
Uttarakhand District Magistrates meeting
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday held a virtual meeting with all District Magistrates of Uttarakhand from the Chief Minister’s residence and reviewed the monsoon situation, disaster management preparedness, Char Dham and Kanwar Yatra arrangements, the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ programme, verification drives, road repairs and other key development issues.
The Chief Minister directed district administrations to remain fully alert during the monsoon and ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to deal with any emergency. He instructed officials to keep their phones switched on and remain accessible at all times.
Detailed assessment of damaged roads and drainage systems
CM Dhami directed District Magistrates to prepare a detailed district-wise assessment of roads damaged due to heavy rainfall, blocked or broken routes and problems in drainage systems during the monsoon.
He said all such locations should be identified in advance so that repair and reconstruction work on damaged roads, routes and drainage systems can begin on priority immediately after the monsoon.
Pothole Free Roads by October 15
The Chief Minister gave a clear deadline for making roads pothole-free across the state. He directed all District Magistrates to prepare detailed action plans for their respective districts and constitute committees to monitor the progress of road repair works.
He said the pothole-free road campaign should begin immediately after the monsoon and all roads across Uttarakhand must be made pothole-free by October 15 under any circumstances.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for regular monitoring and quality control in road repair and construction works.
‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ programme to be intensified
CM Dhami directed officials to accelerate the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ programme after the monsoon.
He instructed district administrations to organise camps on priority in areas and villages where such camps have not yet been held and ensure that maximum eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes and services.
The Chief Minister said these camps should not become a mere formality but should serve as an effective platform for resolving public grievances and providing government services at the doorstep.
CM Helpline 1905
The Chief Minister directed officials to regularly review the functioning of CM Helpline 1905 and ensure timely disposal of public grievances.
He also instructed officials to accelerate the ongoing verification campaign across the state. Ineligible beneficiaries under schemes related to ration cards, Ayushman cards and other government welfare programmes should be identified and action taken as per rules, he said.
He further directed officials to expedite State Sector Physical Verification so that government benefits reach only eligible beneficiaries.
PMGSY roads Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister directed officials to identify roads constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) that have completed five years and are now in poor condition.
He called for a detailed assessment of such roads and preparation of action plans for their resurfacing and improvement. Where required, the process of transferring these roads to the Public Works Department should also be taken forward to ensure better and smoother road connectivity in rural areas.
Speed up implementation of Chief Minister’s announcements
CM Dhami directed District Magistrates to accelerate the implementation of works approved under the Chief Minister’s announcements.
He called for regular review and monitoring of these projects so that development works are completed within the stipulated timelines and their benefits reach the people at the earliest.
Uttarakhand Kanwar Yatra
Focus on cleanliness, anti-drug campaign and traffic management
The Chief Minister instructed officials to intensify cleanliness drives after the Kanwar Yatra, particularly in areas witnessing heavy pilgrim and tourist movement.
He also directed authorities to make the campaign against drug abuse more effective and take strict action against the sale and smuggling of illegal narcotic substances.
He further called for effective traffic management to ensure smooth movement and minimise inconvenience to the public.
Greater focus on agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry
CM Dhami directed District Magistrates to give special attention to schemes related to agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry and connect the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries with these programmes.
He said timely and effective delivery of benefits to farmers, livestock owners and rural residents would create more self-employment opportunities and strengthen Uttarakhand’s rural economy.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the administration must ensure that the benefits of government schemes and development programmes reach people at the grassroots level.
Senior officials attend virtual meeting
Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu attended the meeting. Commissioner Kumaon Deepak Rawat, Commissioner Garhwal Anand Swarup, IG Kumaon Nivedita Kukreti, IG Garhwal Rajiv Swarup, along with all District Magistrates, Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police participated virtually.
