Monthly Coordination Meeting to Be Held on First Tuesday to Expedite Resolution of District-Level Issues
Dehradun: To ensure speedy resolution of issues arising at the district level and strengthen coordination between the state government and district administrations, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed that a coordination meeting be held on the first Tuesday of every month.
The initiative is aimed at providing an effective platform for District Magistrates to raise important issues and pending cases from their respective districts that require inter-departmental coordination, government-level decisions or intervention for resolution.
District Issues to Be Shared With Departments in Advance
The Chief Secretary directed that all issues and cases identified by the districts should be shared with the concerned departments before the scheduled meeting. This will enable departments to review the matters in advance and attend the meeting with the necessary information, facts and proposed course of action.
During the monthly video conference, the concerned district and departmental officials will discuss the issues on a case-by-case basis. Wherever possible, decisions will be taken and matters will be resolved during the meeting itself, ensuring that unnecessary delays are avoided.
Video Conferencing to Facilitate Faster Decision-Making
The coordination meeting will be conducted through video conferencing on the first Tuesday of every month. District officials will be able to directly present matters requiring intervention at the government level before the concerned departments.
The mechanism is expected to reduce delays caused by prolonged correspondence and facilitate faster communication between district administrations and the state government.
Priority to Public-Interest Matters
Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said the primary objective of the new system is to eliminate unnecessary delays in resolving district-level issues and establish effective coordination between the government and districts.
He directed all secretaries to ensure priority action on cases received from the districts, particularly those involving public welfare and issues directly affecting citizens. Departments have been asked to ensure that such matters are addressed promptly and in a time-bound manner.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that the monthly coordination meeting should function not merely as a review platform but as an effective mechanism for problem-solving and prompt decision-making.
