CM Pushkar Singh Dhami approves 30-day ad hoc bonus for 2025-26; eligible daily-wage workers also included
Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has approved an ad hoc, non-productivity-linked bonus for state employees for the financial year 2025-26, bringing a festive boost to thousands of government workers ahead of Diwali.
Eligible employees will receive a bonus equivalent to 30 days’ emoluments, subject to a maximum monthly emolument calculation limit of ₹7,000. Under this arrangement, the maximum bonus payable will be approximately ₹6,908.
The benefit will extend to eligible non-gazetted state government employees, work-charged staff, employees of aided educational and technical educational institutions, local bodies, district panchayats and eligible daily-wage workers.
Which employees are eligible for the bonus?
According to the government order issued by the Finance Department, employees in Groups C and D, along with eligible non-gazetted Group B employees, will qualify for the bonus.
Eligible employees must have a grade pay of up to ₹4,800, corresponding to the revised pay scale of ₹47,600–₹1,51,100 (Level 8). Employees covered under any other productivity-linked bonus scheme will not be eligible for this ad hoc bonus.
The bonus will be calculated on the basis of 30 days’ emoluments, subject to the prescribed monthly calculation limit of ₹7,000.
Daily-wage employees also included
The government has also extended the benefit to eligible casual and daily-wage workers.
Employees working in offices with a six-day working week must have completed at least 240 working days in each year during the preceding three years or more.
For offices following a five-day working week, eligible employees must have completed at least 206 working days in each year. The bonus for eligible daily-wage workers will be calculated using a prescribed monthly limit of ₹1,200, resulting in a maximum payment of approximately ₹1,184.
Service requirements for eligibility
Under the government order, employees must have been in service on March 31, 2026, and completed at least six months of continuous and satisfactory service by that date.
Eligible employees with service ranging from six months to one year will receive the bonus on a proportionate basis, in accordance with the prescribed rules.
Bonus for eligible local body and development authority employees
Eligible employees of local bodies and development authorities that are operating at a profit will also receive the benefit under the prescribed arrangement. The respective bodies and development authorities will bear the expenditure from their own resources.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the state government remains committed to the welfare and interests of its employees. He highlighted their contribution to implementing public welfare schemes and development projects across Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister added that Diwali is a festival of happiness, prosperity and goodwill. The bonus, he said, would add to the festive celebrations of employees and their families. The government will continue to take positive decisions concerning employee welfare and interests.
