DM Savin Bansal in action against liquor shops’ irregularities including over-rating

District Magistrate raided the liquor shop in Old Mussoorie Road Rajpur Market. Irregularities including over-rating were found.

The District Magistrate was receiving complaints of over-rating for a long time.

On 18 September, Wednesday late evening, District Magistrate Savin Bansal himself drove the vehicle and reached the liquor shop in Old Mussoorie Road Rajpur Market. Standing in the queue as a buyer, he bought a bottle of liquor. The salesman demanded Rs. 680 for a bottle worth Rs. 660. The shop was raided due to irregularities and over-rating were found in the inspection of DM.

During the inspection of the District Magistrate, it was also found that the behavior of the salesman was very rude towards the consumers. The Excise Officer reached the spot and imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 on the concerned licensee.

Rapid raids on liquor shops in Doon

On the instructions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the Additional District Magistrate and Sub-District Officers raided the liquor shops in Dehradun. The administration and the officers of the Excise Department were engaged in a campaign against over-rating. Rapid raids were conducted on the liquor shops in the city. This created panic among the liquor shop operators.
