DEHRADUN: DM Savin Bansal chairs a meeting regarding the construction of pink toilets for women in Paltan Bazaar

Pink toilets will soon be seen at Paltan Bazaar and other places for the convenience of women. District administration has started the exercise.

Along with the construction of new toilets for women, modify other toilets in the city as well: DM

DEHRADUN: District Magistrate Savin Bansal held a meeting with the line departments in his office room on November 28 regarding the construction of pink toilets for women in Paltan Bazaar and other places of the city and gave necessary guidelines to the officers to start the exercise of pink toilets in the city. The District Magistrate directed that it is very important to construct pink toilets for the convenience of women in the market and crowded areas. The district administration has started preparations for this. Some places have also been identified.

The concerned officers informed that places have been identified for pink toilets near Rajiv Gandhi Complex, Gaylord Shoes, near Kotwali Ramesh Book Depot, near Dispensary Road Parking Area, Raja Road, Raja Road-2, Tehsil Chowk, Tehsil Footbridge. On which the District Magistrate directed to prepare an action plan immediately at the places where the places have been identified. He also directed that other places should also be selected where women’s toilets can be built. He said that it is very important to construct pink toilets in view of the safety and convenience of women. Especially in markets where common people come for shopping and face inconvenience due to lack of toilets.

The District Magistrate directed that at places where toilets already exist and need to be repaired, prepare an action plan at such places and take immediate action for repairs. The toilets in dilapidated condition should be repaired and fixed. 

Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Deputy District Magistrate Harigiri, District Tourism Development Officer Sushil Mohan Nautiyal along with Chief Medical Superintendents of the concerned hospitals and members of the committee were present in the meeting.
