Uttarakhand – Winter Char Dham Yatra: GMVN hotels to provide 25% discount in rent: CM Dhami

CM Dhami made important announcements in view of winter travel and Chardham Yatra: 

Devotees coming on winter tour of Chardhams of the state will be given 25 per cent discount in rent on staying in GMVN hotels. 

To streamline the upcoming Chardham Yatra, a complete plan should be made and work should be done from now on. 

In view of Chardham Yatra and winter travel, the registration portal system should be strengthened. 

To organize Chardham Yatra, a meeting should be held with the stakeholders and their suggestions should be taken. 

In view of the facilities provided in Chardhams, efforts should also be made to increase the carrying capacity of the Dhams. 

The major areas around the Chardhams and their winter stays should also be developed. 

Provide local products of the state to the visitors as respect and gifts.

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while taking a meeting in the Secretariat on 10 December, Tuesday, said that pilgrims visiting the winter stay sites of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri will be given a discount of 25 per cent on rent in GMVN hotels. He directed the officials to ensure all the necessary arrangements for the winter travel destinations. He reminded that Extensive publicity should also be done in various states through various mediums for this journey. He said that the winter journey will also prove to be a game changer in increasing the economy of the state. He has also directed the officials to develop the major sites around the winter travel stay along with Panch Badri and Panch Kedar. 

Regarding the preparations for the upcoming Chardham Yatra, the Chief Minister directed the concerned District Magistrates to send a report to the government in a week on the challenges faced in the Chardham Yatra this time and how they can be resolved properly. The Chief Minister has also given instructions to make systematic parking around major populated areas and hotels on the Chardham Yatra routes. He said that Chardham Yatra is a journey related to the honour and respect of the state. It is our collective responsibility to make the journey convenient and provide every possible facility to the devotees.

CM Dhami said that the number of devotees in the Chardham Yatra is increasing rapidly every year. In view of the infrastructure development facilities gathered in the Char Dhams, work should be done towards increasing the carrying capacity. The major mythological sites around the Chardhams should be developed and they should also be widely publicized. Special attention should be given to roads, drinking water, sanitation, health facilities and other basic facilities in the Chardham Yatra routes. Work should also be done on an alternative route for visiting Yamunotri. He said that a meeting should be held at the government level with the stakeholders for a well-organized Chardham Yatra. Whatever can be good for the travel management should be done by taking suggestions from the stakeholders. 

The Chief Minister said that preparations should be started from now for the upcoming Ardh Kumbh to be held in Haridwar. This is a big event, work should be done in every field from now to make this event grand. He said that work should also be done at a fast pace on the Ganga Corridor and Sharda Corridor. For the convenience of visitors to Purnagiri and Kainchi Dham, work should be done towards alternative routes and effective action plan should be made to prevent accidents.

He further said preparations should also be started in view of the upcoming Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. He instructed the Transport Department to make proper arrangements for transport from the state for Prayagraj Kumbh.

CM Dhami directed the officials to provide only local products of Uttarakhand as honor and gift to the visitors and dignitaries coming to the state. This will also promote Vocal for Local and our local products will get a distinct identity on a wide scale. 

 

Vice Chairman of Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R. K. Sudhanshu, DGP Deepam Seth, Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagoli, Sachin Kurve, Dr. Pankaj Pandey, Brijesh Kumar Sant, H.C. Semwal, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari and District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of the districts associated with the Chardham Yatra were present in the meeting through virtual medium.
