DEHRADUN: State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar reviewed the preparations for voting and counting of votes for the Municipal Local Body General Elections 2024-25 in his office on Tuesday. The State Election Commissioner took detailed information from the officials regarding the departure of polling parties and deployment of security parties etc.
The State Election Commissioner, while taking information about the postal ballot, directed the officials to set up stalls at the departure points of the polling parties for voting by postal ballot for the personnel engaged in election duty. He directed that all control rooms should be activated at the scheduled time.
The State Election Commissioner directed that in case the voting process in the polling stations goes on for a long time, proper arrangements of light should be made in all the polling stations. He directed the Social Welfare Department to provide wheel chairs and other facilities for Divyang voters at the polling stations. Said that a helpline number should also be issued for this.
On this occasion, Secretary State Election Commission Rahul Kumar Goyal and Joint Secretary Kamlesh Mehta along with senior officers of other concerned departments were present.
