Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid heartfelt tribute to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, the late Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Dhami offered floral respects at Bahuguna’s portrait at the Chief Minister’s residence and later garlanded his statue at Ghantaghar.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami praised Bahuguna’s remarkable contributions to political and social life. He described Bahuguna as a leader whose life was marked by struggle and resilience, steadfast like the Himalayas. Dhami highlighted Bahuguna’s visionary approach toward the holistic development of mountainous regions and his deep-rooted connection to the culture and civilization of the area. He noted that through his extraordinary talent and unwavering commitment to public service, Bahuguna carved out a distinct place in Indian politics.
Former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, MLAs Umesh Sharma Kau and Savita Kapoor, and Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal were also present on the occasion. They offered their tributes and fondly remembered the late leader, reflecting emotionally on his legacy.
