Village name changed with the efforts of CM Dhami
PITHORAGARH: The village “Khuni” located in Tehsil Pithoragarh of Pithoragarh district has now been officially renamed as “Devigram.” With the special efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Government of India granted approval for the name change, following which the Revenue Department of the Uttarakhand Government issued a formal notification.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that the local residents had been demanding the change for a long time. Respecting their sentiments, the state government sought and obtained approval from the central government, thereby fulfilling this longstanding demand.
From now on, the village formerly known as “Khuni” will be officially recognized as “Devigram.” This step reflects the state government’s commitment to public sentiments and its sensitivity towards cultural values.
