Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Haldwani City Bus Service
A New Milestone in Urban Mobility: Safe, Affordable and Eco-Friendly Transport for Citizens
Haldwani: In a significant step towards improving urban transportation and reducing congestion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday inaugurated the Haldwani City Bus Service, giving the people of the city a new and much-awaited gift. The Chief Minister flagged off the first fleet of buses from the Circuit House premises amid enthusiastic participation from citizens and public representatives.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami said that the launch of the city bus service marks an important milestone in Haldwani’s development journey. “This modern and affordable transport facility will provide citizens with safe, reliable, and accessible travel options. It will also help reduce traffic congestion, curb pollution, and promote energy conservation,” he stated.
He emphasized that the state government is committed to developing modern, environment-friendly and efficient urban transport systems across Uttarakhand’s cities, ensuring that people get improved and sustainable mobility solutions.
According to Transport Department officials, the city bus service will be introduced in phases along major routes of Haldwani. Initially, the buses will operate on high-demand corridors, catering to the daily travel needs of local residents, students, and office-goers. The initiative is expected to provide significant relief to commuters and improve connectivity across different parts of the city.
The inauguration event witnessed the presence of several prominent dignitaries, including MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat (Kaladhungi) and Ram Singh Kaida (Bhimtal), BJP District President Pratap Bisht, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Riddhim Agarwal, and Chief Development Officer Anamika, along with senior administrative officials and a large number of citizens.
