Dehradun, 07 November 2025:
On the occasion of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, the District Administration of Dehradun flagged off the Doon Marathon on Friday morning. District Magistrate Savin Bansal inaugurated the 8 km marathon by waving the flag at Pavilion Ground.
The marathon route passed through Kanak Chowk, Asley Hall, Bahl Chowk, Dilaram Chowk, and Brahmakamal Chowk up to NIVH, before returning via the same route and concluding at the Pavilion Ground. A total of 700 participants enthusiastically took part in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, DM Savin Bansal said that completing 25 years of Uttarakhand’s formation is a proud moment for every citizen. He added that the Doon Marathon is not just a sports event but a symbol of collective resolve, unity, and the energetic spirit of Uttarakhand.
He emphasized that marathons teach determination, patience, and the importance of continuous effort — qualities essential for the comprehensive development of the state.
“Youth are the strength and hope of our state. The pace of your steps carries the future of Uttarakhand. Through this marathon, you are spreading the message of ‘Healthy Uttarakhand – Strong Uttarakhand’ across society,” he said.
Encouraging participants, he noted that the event is not merely about winning but about promoting sportsmanship, health, and unity. He urged everyone to take a pledge to contribute towards making Uttarakhand a clean, healthy, prosperous, and ideal state.
