Kisan Thank CM Dhami for Record Hike in Sugarcane Support Price
Uttarakhand Government Announces Historic ₹30/Quintal Increase; Becomes Highest Paying State in the Region

Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received a warm welcome from farmers during his visit to Khatima on Wednesday, as they expressed gratitude for the state government’s landmark decision to increase the sugarcane support price.
Under the leadership of the BJP Kisan Morcha’s State President Mahendra Singh Negi, farmers presented the Chief Minister with a special basket containing sugarcane and traditional produce from the hill region—gaderi, malta, ginger, and honey—as a token of appreciation.
Negi said the government’s decision to raise the sugarcane support price by ₹30 per quintal will directly benefit nearly three lakh farmers across the state, calling it “a decisive step towards doubling farmers’ income.”
With the latest revision, the support price of early-maturing sugarcane has been increased from ₹375 to ₹405 per quintal, while the rate for general variety has gone up from ₹365 to ₹395 per quintal. This increase places Uttarakhand ahead of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh in offering the highest sugarcane support price in the region—providing significant relief and motivation to farmers.
Chief Minister Dhami reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy, stating that ensuring fair remuneration for farmers’ produce remains one of the administration’s top priorities.
Among those present to thank the Chief Minister were BJP Kisan Morcha State In-charge Rajendra Singh Bisht, Sandeep Kuksal, Harish Sunal, Narendra Mehra, Soban Singh, Bhairav Kholiya, Ravindra Raikuni, Anandmani Bhatt, and several other farmers.
