Women’s athletics and fun activity event will be held at Parade Ground Dehradun on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day. Participants will compete in 100m, 200m, 400m races and tug of war in different age categories.
Dehradun: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a Women’s Athletics and Fun Activity Program will be organized at Parade Ground, Dehradun on March 8. The event will begin at 7:00 AM and aims to promote sports, health, and empowerment among women and girls.
The program is being organized by MY Bharat, Dehradun, a unit of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Participants will compete in three different age categories:

Up to 13 years
-
13 to 18 years
-
Above 18 years
Athletics competitions including 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters races will be conducted in each age category. In addition, a tug-of-war competition will also be organized as part of the fun activities to encourage teamwork and enthusiasm among participants.
Winners in all events will be awarded medals in recognition of their performance.
Monika Nandal, Deputy Director of MY Bharat, Dehradun, informed that participants interested in taking part in the competition must register on the MY Bharat portal. They can complete their registration by visiting mybharat.gov.in.
She also appealed to women and girls to participate in large numbers, so that International Women’s Day can be celebrated with enthusiasm while promoting the spirit of sports, health, and women’s empowerment.
