Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met Deputy Army Chief Lt Gen Rajeev Ghai to discuss strategic issues, security, disaster management, and development in the border state.
DEHRADUN: On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a courtesy meeting with Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy), at the Chief Minister’s residence.
During the meeting, both leaders held detailed discussions on various contemporary and strategic issues, with a particular focus on security, disaster management, and development in the border state of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister emphasized that in a geographically sensitive and strategically important state like Uttarakhand, the support of the Indian Army plays a crucial role. He highlighted the Army’s significant contribution during disaster situations and expressed confidence that stronger coordination between the state government and the Army would further accelerate development activities while enhancing security preparedness.
Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai assured continued cooperation and coordination with the state government. He reiterated that the Indian Army remains fully committed to supporting the state in disaster response, relief operations, and strategic matters.
The meeting is being seen as a positive step toward strengthening future strategies related to development, security, and disaster management in the state.
