Digital Census 2027 Begins in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami Completes Self-Enumeration

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches Digital Census 2027 in Uttarakhand, completes self-enumeration and urges citizens to participate online.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami formally launched the state’s participation in Census 2027 by completing his self-enumeration process at the Chief Minister’s residence. Senior officials associated with the census operation were present on the occasion and briefed him about the digital process in detail.

The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving towards a fully digital census for the first time. He described it as a historic step that will ensure transparency, accuracy, and greater public participation.

First Phase: House Listing and Housing Census

The first phase of Census 2027 is the “House Listing and Housing Census (HLO),” which involves collecting key data related to housing conditions, amenities, and household details. This time, citizens can use the self-enumeration feature to fill in their family details online, making the process simpler, faster, and more error-free.

CM’s Appeal to Citizens

Appealing to the people of the state, the Chief Minister urged them to actively participate by completing their self-enumeration. He said:

“Census 2027 is the foundation of the nation’s development. This digital initiative will ensure transparency and accuracy. I urge all citizens to come forward and actively participate in this national exercise.”

Directions to Officials

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that the census process is conducted in a timely, transparent, and efficient manner. He emphasized that the data collected plays a crucial role in policymaking, making accuracy and reliability extremely important.

Assurance on Data Security

He also assured citizens that strict measures have been put in place to safeguard the data collected during the census. The information will be used strictly for statistical purposes, ensuring complete confidentiality of personal details.

Step Towards Digital Empowerment

The Chief Minister highlighted that this initiative marks a significant step towards digital empowerment and increased public participation in Uttarakhand, helping make future policies more effective and targeted.

Geeta Dhami, Director (Census Operations) Eva Srivastava, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
