Dehradun.
In a significant step towards strengthening the Digital India mission at the grassroots level, the Dehradun district administration has undertaken a major modernization initiative by renovating the National Informatics Centre (NIC) office located at the Collectorate campus. District Magistrate Savin Bansal inaugurated the newly renovated and upgraded NIC office on Saturday, highlighting the administration’s commitment to improving digital governance and public service delivery.
The renovation work was carried out under the special initiative of the District Magistrate with the objective of creating a more organized, technology-driven and efficient working environment. The upgraded office now features modern infrastructure, improved technical resources and enhanced workplace facilities for the District Informatics Officer, Additional District Informatics Officer, technical staff and operators.
The modernization of the office is expected to significantly improve workflow management, operational efficiency and the quality of digital services being delivered to various government departments and the public.
Speaking on the occasion, District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that NIC serves as a vital pillar of the government’s digital governance framework. He stated that strengthening the infrastructure of the office would accelerate e-governance initiatives and enable more efficient coordination and execution of administrative functions across departments.
He further emphasized that the upgraded digital infrastructure would play a crucial role in the smooth and transparent conduct of important assignments such as elections and other governance-related operations requiring robust technological support.
The District Magistrate also noted that NIC plays a key role in ensuring that various online government schemes and citizen-centric services reach the public efficiently and transparently. He expressed confidence that the modernized office would help meet future digital governance requirements more effectively.
During the event, NIC officials and employees expressed gratitude to District Magistrate Savin Bansal and Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah for facilitating the modernization initiative. Officials stated that the new facilities would significantly enhance work efficiency, simplify operations and improve service delivery mechanisms.
The District Informatics Officer remarked that the upgraded infrastructure would enable government digital services to be delivered to citizens with greater transparency, accessibility and efficiency, ensuring direct benefits to the public.
