Pension Verification Camp Held in Nawada Badripur, Physical Verification of 164 Beneficiaries Completed

Social Welfare Department Intensifies Special Verification Drive; Pension May Be Suspended if Verification is Not Completed by May 30

Under the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the Social Welfare Department organized a special pension verification camp in Ward No. 96, Nawada Badripur under the Municipal Corporation Dehradun as part of the annual physical verification campaign for various pension schemes.

A large number of beneficiaries availing old age, widow, and disability pensions attended the camp and completed the verification of their documents. During the camp, physical verification of a total of 164 beneficiaries was successfully conducted, including 120 old age pension beneficiaries, 12 disability pension beneficiaries, and 32 widow pension beneficiaries.

Officials of the department thoroughly examined the beneficiaries’ documents and completed all required formalities related to eligibility and verification.

District Social Welfare Officer Deepankar Ghidiyal informed that annual physical verification is being carried out compulsorily for all beneficiaries receiving pensions under the Social Welfare and Women Welfare Departments across Dehradun district. He stated that the last date for pension verification has been fixed as May 30, 2026, in accordance with government instructions.

He further clarified that beneficiaries who fail to complete the verification process within the stipulated time may face temporary suspension of their pension benefits. Therefore, all beneficiaries have been urged to complete the verification process with the required documents well before the deadline.

The District Social Welfare Officer also informed that in rural areas, pension verification is being carried out by Gram Panchayat Development Officers, while in urban areas the process is being conducted through personnel of the Revenue Department to ensure wider accessibility and smooth implementation.

Regional Councillor Virendra Walia, along with officials and employees from the Revenue Department, Social Welfare Department, and Child Development Department, were present during the camp. Officials also provided information related to pension schemes and emphasized making the verification process simple, transparent, and beneficiary-friendly.
